Iranzo: ''We'll be eternally grateful to the teammates and the people of the town"
The player from Picanya talks on VCF Media Radio about his experience after the flash floodings that devastated the southern region of Valencia.
Mestalla will turn one hundred years old on Saturday, May 20th. Valencia CF face Real Madrid on Sunday (6:30 p.m. CEST) in an ideal way to commemorate this historic milestone.
To start off the pre-match festivities, some of the content that has been produced this year for the occasion of the centenary will be shown on the video screens at the stadium.
Sociedad Unión Musical de Yátova band will interpret the score of the first Valencia CF anthem, which dates back to 1924. Finally, when the players take to the pitch, a singer will perform a rendition of the regional anthem.
Items will be distributed throughout the stadium so that everybody can enjoy a great atmosphere together. Atop of Mestalla there will be a new club crest that will preside over the façade, whilst the original crest continues to be remodelled.
Valencia CF have also gone back to the club's origins and will allocate the funds raised in the auction of the shirts the players wear in the match to Casa Caridad, in the same way as was done in the opening match at the ground.
During May, Valencia CF will pay homage to season ticket holders with more than 50 years of uninterrupted membership, for the first time since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
VCF MEDIA will put on a special 4-hour Spanish language programme and will cover everything related to the centenary of Mestalla, through the official VCF website and app, as well as the club's YouTube and Twitch channels.
